Today the NPSL Midwest Region announced its conference alignment for the 2017 season. The Midwest will be split into three conferences: North, Great Lakes, and East. The Rochester River Dogz FC will compete in the East Conference against familiar foes: Erie Commodores FC, FC Buffalo, and the 2016 NPSL National Champion's AFC Cleveland. The Fort Pitt Regiment return to the league after taking a year off and The sixth team in the conference will be Dayton Dynamo shifting over from the Great Lakes conference.
The NPSL regular season for Midwest Region teams will begin the weekend of May 12-14, and the final day of the regular season is Saturday, July 22. The Region will hold its playoffs during the week of July 24th, with the NPSL National Semifinals on Saturday, August 5th, and the 2017 NPSL National Championship on Saturday, August 12th. Further news regarding the 2017 league schedule and Midwest Region playoff format will be announced at a later date.
